Life Rent Help And Advice

Hi There

Not sure if this site can answer this query but here goes:

At the minute i am having a extension built to my house to accomodate my father-in-law who is wheelchair bound. As he is paying for the extension and selling his own house and giving myself the proceeds for this, his solicitor has requested that we draw up a LIFE RENT so that this protects my father in law. I do not have any issue with this but what concerns me is if his health deteriorates in the future where he needs further help (e.g a care home) will we in any way be responsible for the payments of the care. He will not have substantial savings as he just receives his pension etc.

Any advice on the implications would be much appreciated.

thanks in advance
