Hi,

My son was sick on his bedroom carpet last night, and I cant get the stain out. Does anyone have any ideas how I can remove this stain?

odds are you wont, my dog was sick on the living room carpet and the carpet was Dupont stainmaster the sick completely flattened the pile and left a lovely brown stain in my case was a claim on the household insurance but suppose depends what would be the cost of replacing carpet against a claim on the insurance.

    Hi Basil,

i wont claim my house insurance for it, i have a £50 excess but my brother works for a carpet company, so, if i were to replace it, I would get it at a discounted price anyway. i would rather try to clean it if i could.

My son has 3 children, a mad dog and a cat so their carpet gets all sorts on it. D-i-l says that Vanish Foam (I presume it's for carpets) is very good.

  • My daughter was sick on our bedroom carpet, and I used a solution of biological washing powder and hand hot water. The enzymes broke down the protein (sick) and removed it all - smell as well. HTH

be sure to test anything you use on a small hidden bit first.

i use a mixture of oxyclean and water but you cannot do this on wool
or it will take the colours (yes beige has other things in it like pink) out and you will be left with a bigger non-removable stain

oxyclean is great for synthetic carpets though
