Problem back up MS Money onto USB memory stick

I have bought a new 4GB USB stick from Argos.
I tried to back up MS Money onto it (only a small file even though its got 4 years of data) like I always do onto other memory sticks and it said it had filled the disk and insert another (it think its backing up to floppy by default but I have changed it to back up to my F: drive) I have not changed anything about the way I back up since I first set Money up, its just a different stick.
Obviously there is loads of space, and when I look at the propeties, its fine and it shows up on the memory stick, it just says it can't back up and tells me how many days since I backed up onto another memory stick. It says the backup failed but the files size corresponds with the size of the backup.
So it looks like the file is there okay but I don't want to rely on it if its not backing it up fully, I would be happier if I could get rid of this message.
Any ideas whats wrong?
Thanks
Sarah

Microsoft Money 2007 and earlier has a problem with external backup devices (USB memory sticks) which have more than 2GB free storage space on them, see http://money.mvps.org/faq/article/472.aspx
The only option they suggest is "if you're using Vista, then you could use half the disk as a ReadyBoost drive so as to reduce the disk space available"
I assume error occurs when you "Backup to floppy", try "Backup to hard disk:", just click the Browse button and navigate to the USB drive and see if that stops the error message.
Other options are buying a smaller USB drive (www.7dayshop.com are selling 1GB Flash Drive for £1.99 with free delivery) or copy files to fill half the USB drive, this is wasteful unless they are backups.0 -
Thank you, that explains it!
It won't let me choose "Back up to hard disk" but I have directed it to my USB drive anyway though it still says "Back up to floppy"
Its not a a major problem, its just that I am so bad for misplacing USBs so I feel happier knowing its backed up a few times.
I could put college/work stuff on to get it over the 2gb anyway now I know what the problem is.
Thank you!
