As MX5huggy says, just contact the electrol register now you know the real truth.

As you appear to have acted in good faith when you originally submitted the form, I wouldn't worry too much about the mistake you originally made. You acting promptly to correct it as soon as you discovered the truth should also also be taken positively.

You should also inform the council tax people as a person under 18 is not liable for council tax, so you maight get a reduction - but that depends on your circumstances. e.g. whether her not being liable would allow you to cliam a single person occupancy discount

My thoughts exactly, as long as I'm not inadvertently breaking the law it's all cool. :D
    If she's 16, I'm guessing it's legal!!!

I don't if it is still the case, but several years ago if a minor (i.e. person under 18 yrs of age) defaulted on paying for goods/services, it was a very complicated process to get money via court action, which maybe why many companies insist on guarantor when minor involved.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Rather than move in with you, she could have signed up for the army and right now be abroad shooting to kill.

She's lied, which isn't good, but I guess she assumed most people wouldn't rent to her if she told the truth.

If she's keeping to the rules and paying the bills, then there's nothing to worry about. Any issues might only come if she loses her job or owes you money because I believe somebody under 18 isn't considered 'legally financially responsible', which is why they can't get credit.
  • I had a 16 year old live with me. Free council tax for them and the council helped with the rent. It was all fine - and while he was there I got free cavity wall and loft insulation!

edit: you should be able to claim a council tax rebate if it's only you and them living there
