First Directory - should we take it with the mortgage?

Hi
We are about to start our FD mortgage on Monday (fingers crossed anyway!) I was speaking to them yesterday and was told that if we signed up to First Directory we would get £100 cashback - has anyone else had this offer and taken them up on it - is it worth it?

Thanks

Get £100 for signing up for an account, or applying for a mortgage, or if you the mortgage?

Would you decide on a mortgage on the basis of £100 cashback?

If its for applying only or opening an account then go for it.

Get advice from IFA to compare the mortgage.

Mortgage is a done deal (+.79% BOE lifetime tracker with no fees) but they just mentioned this to me yesterday. We had to open a current account with them as the mortgage is offset so I think this is relating to that.
Just wondering anyone else had taken them up on this offer?

You must have applied for the 0.79% over base ages ago.

As for the account you cannot go wrong. Its probably the best run telephone bank in UK (IMO).

Booked it in October - was a wise move and all thanks to this site recommending booking a mortgage months before the rate is up (and also in part thanks to IF for having such rubbish rates and fees and forcing me to change lender!)

Thanks for the info about the bank - certainly have been lovely to me during the application process

If the new account offsets the mortgage then its a very good place to put any and all savings even if your rate is only BOE + 0.79% as you will struggle to get that after tax from savings accounts at the moment.
Either save into account or overpay mortgage as much as you can afford
    GOOD LUCK

First Directory what First Direct call their premier bank account - £12.95 a month for travel insurance, phone insurance, commission free currency etc. It was this I was offered with £100 cash back if I took it before I drew down the mortgage.
    Sorry for the confusion

Is it not free for first 3 months, then £9.95 for the following 9.

After than I assume you can bin it.

Handy if going to be going on holiday/s and need mobile phone insurance...other perks to I guess
