Sorry wasn't sure where to put this! I was made redundant yesterday so got to do some job hunting. However my printer is not working and not sure now is the time to be buying a new one!

Anywhere on the high street that will let me print a word document from a usb stick? Or any other suggestions (do the library offer a service?).

Thanks.

Try the phtography places, trueprint etc they might help, or a local college, library, adult education center, job center.

The library probably will let you print stuff*, but i'm not sure about from USB memory sticks - if you can it might be worth emailing your CV to yourself via an email address that allows you to check/retrieve it from the web (make sure you use a good strong password, and don't have an obvious password reminder/reset question).

That way if you can't use the USB stick you should hopefully be able to log in and get it from the email ready for printing.

*IIRC my one charges a small fee per page, depending on if it's black & white or colour.
  • If you give us an idea of your location, we might be able to help with specifics but I would have thought any kind of cyber-cafe place should allow you to print for a price.

However if your printing a significant amount it might be cheaper to buy a new generic inkjet something like:

    or

It seems to be perfectly possible to get a printer for £30-35 delivered, however be aware they will sting you on replacement ink cost.

Obviously assess your needs and figure our which will be cheaper for you....
