Barclays £3 charge? !!!!!!?!

ok so a while ago i remember posting saying that my basic bank account with barclays and magically upgraded itself?! anyone remember?

So i phoned them and got it sorted, and went back to a basic account.

Now on the same day i got a phone call, on my mums house phone from barclays asking me to buy some kind of home insurance...HELLO I'M A FULL TIME STUDENT AND LIVE WITH MY MUM?! After saying no, and asking them not to call my mums house again, to only contact me via my mobile or letter he kindly hung up.
But on the same day i checked my online banking and a £3 charge was applied, saying account fee?!

I have emailed them, with no responce, an ideas?

Sounds like they have billed you for a part month on the upgraded account.

I don't ever use this account, and its put my account -£2.87

Ask them to downgrade it to a Barclays Bank Account instead of a basic bank account (Cash Card Account), as it provides better facilities like a chequebook and optional overdraft and personal reserve.
