xbox 360 settings question

i dont have a clue about which is best on certain settings and whether they can even be displayed on all tvs as i can sometimes play on a full 1080p tv or a 720p tv and even sometimes on a none hd ready tv. although i dont think the settings in question are relevant with a none hd ready tv.
the first is the reference levels. what is the difference between standard, intermediate and expanded? which is best? the second is with hdmi colour space. what is the difference and which is the best out of auto, source, rgb, YCbCr709 and YCbCr601?

I dont have one so ill just tellyou wjhat I DO know. FULL colourspace is the best, but most tvs (Including yours I think), dont have it (If you select it, youll CLIP the extreme black and whites, meaning very dark or bright pictures, scenes will look awful)
Auto 'should' be best. Id guess it will display RGB for its games and auto select component (One of the YCBCRs) for displaying dvds (otherwise it would have to convert to RGB and lose detail)
NO idea what reference levels is all about, but id guess STANDARD is where it SHOULD be set:idea:0 -
if my full hd 1080p tv cant be set at the best setting then what can? i dont bother watching dvds on the console. i just use it for games.0

Just because its a 1080P tv doesnt mean its full colourspace.
My dads 50" pioneer is, but thats £2800 new:idea:0 -

The reference levels are just for VGA connections, not HDMI.0 -

Simplest way I know is use a THX setup disc. Set to FULL colourspace. If you cant get the brightness settings anything like then you dont have it.:idea:0
