OMG, this company is a joke. After reading many comments on this company, I just had to post my own. I have just written a complaint email to them regarding a £48 reduction on my refund and the reason is because they couldnt deliver as advertised. I am reporting them to the office of fair trading tomorrow if I dont get no joy.

I called the consumer helpline today after this joke of a company said they wasn't going to refund my money and was told that they have to under the distance selling regulations and that my purchase was covered under the consumer credit act so I can claim every penny back from them OR the CC company.
So now I have a choice what to do!!!!! Hmmm, guess which one I chose? I'm so happy that for once, I was right x0 -
Ordered a mattress online but advised by phone that there 24hr delivery promise would not be met. It would take 6 days so I cancelled the order. After two months still haven't got my money back despite phone and emailing them and receiving assurance that a refund had been arranged. Credit card company now on the case. Avoid thememoryfoammattressfirm.co.uk at all costs. They are a dishonest company. Not sure how good the mattresses are.0

Thought I'd give you my experience on the company.

I ordered my luxury mattress on the Fri 18th of Sept 09 hoping to get it delivered Sun 20th Sept with their fantastic 24 hour delivery service.
I was called on the Sat 19th (15.30) to say it wouldn't be delivered this weekend, it will be the following weekend. (I thought fair play)
The following weekend came and no delivery so I called them...after an hour of ringing every 5 minutes using my mobile, I used my Girlfriends mobile and they answered right away. (this could have been fluke, although I did enter my mobile on their website when placing the order? Spooky)
Anyway...I was politely told, "oh our system says your down for the following weekend delivery."
At this point I have wasted 2 weekends waiting in my front room for a mattress to be delivered. I decide not to call the company because I know that I paid on plastic and if I wait 30 days from date of the payment being taken from my account, the bank must re-imburst me for the funds and my bank can chase them for the monies.
On my original order I clearly stated I required a weekend delivery.
Thursday 1st Oct I get a call, (with no apology for the previous weekend) "Please can we deliver your mattress tomorrow?" "No, I require weekend delivery."
"Ok Sir, we will deliver this weekend."
I didn't believe a word they said. Saturday 3rd of Oct came, no call, no delivery. Sunday 4th Oct came, no call, no delivery. I settle down to watch 'match of day' on Sunday night (4th Oct) at 22:30 and I get a call, "Hello Sir, it the bed firm, I know it's late, but I'm in the area can I deliver your mattress now?"
In shock and a tad excited I wait another 20 mins and he arrives, delivers the mattress and it seems all good.
It's all unbranded, so no real way to tell what your getting, but it's clean, firm and memory foam. Yeah...I quite like it, but I'm no bed expert. First nights sleep was good.
If you want a decent priced mattress and happy to chase the company constantly and worry about your money for 2-3 weeks, order from this company. They use their own vans for delivery, hence I think they wait until they get several orders in the area before they dispatch. Also they give you the choice to pay on delviery (cash) I recommend you use this option.
Once you enter an order, their terms and conditions state,
2. The Delivery Date specified by the Seller is an estimate only. Time for delivery shall not be of the essence of the Contract.
Does this mean they can take your order and never deliver???
Clearly this company will never actually confirm a delivery date in writing, they always do it over the phone. Even when you place an order, they don't have a calendar to select a date, you write in a box when you want the product to be delivered.
All in all, a strange company and a shame cos they've got a good thing going.
Please order at your own convienience.0 -
You can get great deals on ebay for memory foam mattress... your rights are stronger espcially if you pay via Paypal.0

Actually Paypal's protection and security is pretty poor compared to credit cards. There are many sellers who would stop accepting Paypal as a method of payment if ebay didn't insist you you must accept Paypal. I think this stinks when you consider that Ebay and Paypal are the same company.
At one point ebay were actually removing listings if the seller stated that they would accept cash on delivery (which is obviously the safest method of payment). Then it was pointed out to them that they were breaking the law, so they changed their rule to stopping the seller insisting on cash on delivery.
If you pay by credit card then you can claim back of the credit card company if they don't deliver, or the quality is substandard.
If you do buy on ebay then beware. There is a mixture of reputable sellers, con merchants, and some very poor quality mattresses imported from the far east that don't even reach British Standards.0 -

Hang on, I'm confused. Why would you want to get no joy with the company? Surely if there is a problem, you'd want it resolved?“Don't do it! Stay away from your potential. You'll mess it up, it's potential, leave it. Anyway, it's like your bank balance - you always have a lot less than you think.”

Cheers for that Tim. I think Paypal acts better for the buyer rather than seller hence sellers don't like it... Makes sense, there are more buyers than sellers... but it is wrong to force sellers to use it.
Anyway I thought I'd a little bit more to my story above. I logged a dispute with my bank because I suspected foul play with the company in question. (I did mention this above)
Anyway, I received this response from the bank.
"We cannot dispute for non receipt of goods as the company are trying to obtian a delivery date. You will need to get a confimed delivery date from them and only then if the foods are not delivered can we dispute the item for you."
My situation has been resolved since I received the mattress, however this is worrying...
Does anybody know if this is correct about the Delivery date? The company do not offer a delviery date? Or is my bank talking rubbish? Also my bank seem to think I'm ordering Food? LOL0 -

The only reason Paypal sometimes appear to be better for the buyer is because they often don't investigate properly. However this sometimes backfires on the buyer.
