Hello! I wonder if anyone could help me. I have a Marbles credit card, and in 2004 (after going through a tricky separation), I ran into financial difficulties and ended up missing two months of payments. These late payments resulted in me getting heavily charged with late fees, which then in turn pushed me over my credit limit. Marbles placed a default on my account in March 2004, and this has made it impossible to get credit or a mortgage ever since. I brought my account quickly back into line under the credit limit and set up a direct debit so that no future payments would be missed. Since March 2004 I have been paying the minimum monthly payment. When I looked at my credit report recently my account comes up as being defaulted, but Marbles (or HFC) haven’t updated the fact that I have never missed a payment since the default. Did my account have to be taken to £0 before the default can have 6 years to clear, or will, in March 2010, it be erased from my records seeing as though I am still paying into clearing the account? I’m very confused, as had I know that the account needed to be paid off I would have cleared it years ago and marbles have never stipulated that this was the case. Furthermore, I cannot even recall getting a default notice in the first place. Thank you in anticipation for your much needed advice...
