Royal Mail/ebay Christmas offer?

I am currently trawling through the threads for an item I saw recently offering 9.99 collection and delivery but can't remember where if anyone else has seen it I would appreciate a point in the right direction meanwhile I'll keep trawling

  • Can't see the thread offhand, but it was ParcelForce not Royal Mail. £9.99 inc VAT for collection & delivery up to 30Kg. You have to mention eBay offer when calling them for a collection. Actually, that may be enough information to get it anyway.
Good Luck - you'll need it if you use Parcel-Farce, they have delayed, lost or damaged every single item I've ever sent in the past 13 years - that's some record! Personally, I generally use Royal Mail Standard Parcels (which used to be operated by ParcelForce) as it's pretty economical up to 20Kg - although you have to take your parcel to the Post Office. Takes about 3 to 5 days to arrive usually.

Or if you have a branch of Staples nearby they do a delivery service (through Securicor Omega) for £8 - this is supposed to be next day but is more like 3 days. The weight limit used to be whatever you could lift onto the counter but I have heard it's now restricted to somewhere around 25-30kg, anything over that will incur a surcharge. I think they may also have introduced limits on dimensions.

There is a link on the greasypalm site for a company called parcels to go. I think it's listed under "business services" on greasypalm. I have used it twice and it's okay. With the referral discount, works out at just over £9. Click the "promo code" button on the parcels to go home page to get the discount.

I am very unhappy with eBay and Parcel Force (who are offering the deal).

I sold a collection of computer magazines which are reasonably heavy so it made sense to take up the £9.99 delivery offer. However after having sold the goods I now find it impossible to contact Parcel Force by phone to arrange collection and delivery. Worse still niether eBay or Parcel Force can be contacted via email !!! Or if they can it takes longer than 3 days (poor service).

In the meantime I'm left to source a delivery company to deliver the item !!!! Fortunately I've found Parcel2Go who are doing an offer for £8.99+VAT. Also you can phone Parcel2Go and actually speak to someone which is more than you can do with Parcel Force. MY ADVICE IS TO AVOID THE eBay / Parcel Force OFFER AT ALL COSTS.
