Strange Egg Behaviour?

Hi,

I used my egg card to Balance Transfer from my Capital One card (new balance for life low rate) to my current account to pay off a chunk of a loan as there was no other way to do it. (almst stoozing)

I got a call from Egg saying that this was unusual behaviour and my card was blocked until I went through a process with them that sounds like going through applying for the card again and it was going to take 20 minutes to complete before they would unblock the card. The chap was most unpleasant.

It was a bit of a shock as I have never broken any of the T&Cs .

I am tempted to not get the card unblocked and then get it paid off ASAP as this was not a nice experience.

To be clear, you were transferring a ficticious balance from your Egg Card (Visa) to Capital One?

At what point did Egg call you...as soon as the positive balance arrived on your Egg Card or when you tried to send it from there to your current account?

If the latter, what method were you using, and was the transaction a) larger than £10K, or b) larger than your Egg Card credit limit?

Hi,

Neither.

I transferred most of the egg balance to Cap 1 (2k)

I then transferred 2k from egg to my current account about a week later.

I got the call 2 weeks after that .......................

That link reads about right. I'll tell them to keep my card suspended, cut it up and concentrate on paying them off as top priority ...........

Seems a shame that they offer a service and then dont like you using it.
