in Credit cards
Hi, I was on holiday in new york and used my mbna card when i was there. i siged a reciept for 180$$ in a gift shop and i got billed for 303$$. The shop itself was a bit "off the back of a lorry ish" but was on a main street so i thought it would be ok. I've spoken to mbna and  they have said there is nothing i can do. Advice or help please!!!! :money:

Well from your side you need to have proof to show that you've been overcharged. Ie. a receipt for your goods. That gives MBNA the evidence to then approach the company & inform them the overcharge.
Until then there isn't a lot they can do.0 -
Name the company/address here, maybe somebody might know it, maybe an American is lurking/reading... or somebody just knows that area/place well because they shop in NY often.
It's worth a shot for $123 (about £80)0 -

great idea!! the shop was called "city that never sleeps" and it was/is between macys and the empire state building"
a friend suggested i just file a dispute and say i dont know the transaction, which in some aspects is true!!!!
opinions welcome!0 -
This could be it (after a lot of digging).

I wouldn't recommend claiming not to recognise the transaction - especially after you already told them you do and the amount is wrong.0
