Divorcing post house sale

My partner and his wife sold their house during their seperation and split anything they got after mortgage repayment through the solicitors involved in the sale. My partner now rents and is filing for divorce. Does anyone know if she will have claim on anything else such as his wages or personal property like his electrical items? As far as I'm aware he has no savings or any other estate.
I'm concerned as we have just recently bought items for a home.
Also if we were to purchase a home together, would she possibly be able to claim a stake in that?

She can make a claim for spouse maintenance from him if she isn't working herself for a reason such as illness. If she has chosen not to work but is able to do so, she would be encouraged to support herself.
I'm not sure on claiming personal belongings, but she can claim on assets aquired during and after a divorce.
Make sure your b/f gets a Financial Consent Order (sometimes called a Clean Break Order). It means neither party can ever claim on the other persons estate again.
It might be worth thinking about putting your house purchase plans on hold until the divorce etc., is completed. Here I go again on my own....0 -
