Leaving bank but want to claim back charges

Hi

I want to leave my bank (and have already set up a new account elsewhere), but can I still claim the charges - and would they be paid to me, even if I were no longer with that bank? I want to move on (and not have to run two current accounts), but at the same time, I don't want to miss out.

I'm no expert, but I can't see why not.

You are claiming the bank charges because they relate to "unfair" contract terms. Whether or not a court does finds such terms unfair, this has nothing to do with who you bank with now.

Yes, assuming there was a nil balance on the old a/c
