You usually have to be a member to apply for tickets, but they have recently, been selling tickets to the general public. If you have a look at https://www.manutd.com and keep your eye on the ticket news section, you might be lucky and be able to get tickets to a match that they don't sell out of though.

They are playing Newcastle United on 12th March and Birmingham City on 26th March, so you have a couple of games that are within your daughters birthday month, that you could strike it lucky with - fingers crossed.
Nice Shoes & Expensive Designer Handbags, are my downfall!
  • As a member ,don't get your hopes up these games will sell out no problem. The club will not be selling any league to the general public.
Normally Carling Cup , some European and the odd FA Cup game are on general sale but not Premiership ones.
Depending on what you are willing to pay you could try Ebay (note it is not legal for these to be sold this way) or you could try the touts outside the ground. My opinion of touts is that they should have been put down at birth they are the scum of the earth but to each their own! I have heard that it is typical for them to offer you around half price if you have a spare which you want to sell and then charge double face value to those who want to buy.
You may want to consider taking out a family membership for next season - details on the club site.

I am a member and there is no guarantee that I will get tickets when I apply. Very few games have tickets that go on general sale.

The only other way (expensive) to get tickets is to buy one of those all in hotel packages that ticket agencies flog eg http://www.keithprowse.co.uk/events/football/prem_man_utd.htm

It would be cheaper buying off touts outside the ground to be honest
  • Check this web-site closer to the time, you might be able to get tickets off fans or touts good luck.

With buying off touts, one can wait until the game just kicks off, then purchase one as they are looking at going home - I have a mate who attends 3 or 4 matches a season at Old Trafford, and is usually successful getting them in this manner, although he has missed out a couple of times. But I guess that is not really the sort of thing you really want to do for her birthday.

Man Utd also have away matches at West Brom and Wigan - you could stand a chance if you try there (but in the home fans end as I am sure Man Utd will shift their allocations - just remember not to jump up and down when (or if) they score). I think the Wigan game is televised on a Monday night so that will make tickets easier to come by. Suggest keep an eye on the WBA and Wigan websites.

You find lids tickets blowing round on the streets!!

    ANYWAY!

Try here, they sometimes have premiership tickets going spare, just ask nicely and you may get lucky, face value as well.

call the ticket office a few days before hand and ask for returns.
Failing that sports-index is about as good as an option as you will get.
Even tickets in our end last night at Blackburn were on general sale.

And another thing, without sounding pedantic, never, ever refer to United as Man U! It is an unwritten rule! As stupid as it sounds, some people may be less willing to help you if you refer to the team as Man U....

The only other option is to buy a couple of memberships and apply. This will also give you the chance to apply for a season ticket for next season.

Mind you, the way I am feeling after last night, there might be one or two or more spare season tickets going here!

pay £10 to join the sanctuary where the ticket and travel forum is. If you post on the original board, you will only get sarcastic replies!

I am a regular on there so I know what its like.....Not as good as it was in the good old days....A bit like the football!
