Hi, hope someone can help, I have two laptops which I want to sell on Ebay but need to remove the hard drives first I have been told. Not very mechanically minded and lots of threads say just remove hard drive but I dont know where this is on either laptop, or what it looks like. I have got a screwdriver though!
One laptop is Packard Bell Easynote the other E Systems.
Thank you.

Unless you have a good use elsewhere for the hard disks, you'll probably get more for the laptops if you leave the HDDs in place but wipe them with a utility like DBAN:
http://www.dban.org/
Even the truly paranoid would probably concede that if you do this there is no realistic chance of anyone subsequently recovering any of your data from the disk.0 -
I searched google for 'Packard Bell Easynote HDD removal' and this is what the first link said: (remember, google is your friend :] )the hard disk is right underneath the floppy drive. Therefore, look on underside of the laptop
there should be a panel on the underside in exactly the same place as the floppy. On this panel
there is one screw, unscrew it and the floppy drive should slide out, after the floppy has been
removed the hard disk should then also slide out!
Hope this helpsThis is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.0 -
Selling the laptops for spares or repair cant get into either. The Packard Bell asks for HDD password cant get into windows, the E systems won't power up, so cant wipe hard drive.0

Thanks for your advice managed to find the Packard Bell one (I hope I've taken out the right thing) it's about 4" x 3" says this drive is manufactured by Seagate and has a P/N code on it. Not too worried about the E Systems it was my teenage daughters so cant have anything too vital on it!0
