I can't find any info on this subject anywhere. On checking the best Mini Cash ISA to invest in, the A&L at 5.2% says does not meet government standard and the Halifax at 5% says meets stakeholder standard. Can anyone please advise what this means so that I can choose a suitable ISA. Thanks.

The information is included in the Government's official Stakeholder Savings site. According to this site only Halifax/BoS, HSBC and Nationwide offer Stakeholder Cash ISAs.0

That's shocking - just three providers!
BTW First Direct - part of HSBC - has a stakeholder or 'CAT' standard ISA to my knowledge.
Why did they have to remove 'CAT', a term which people would gradually come to associate with the branding of ISAs and replace it with 'Stakeholder', a term which is synonymous with new-style penson products? It would have been better to have left these distinctions IMO. [Hmm... Spending on new headed notepaper before the public sector boom ends, I suppose?].....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0

Why is it shocking? If CAT had meant anything significant it would have survived.0
