run flat tyre prices?!!!!!
Hi,
I've got a BMW 5 series (second hand) i've got 2 punctured tyres, and i need to get them changed. The prices are bloomin expensive!!!£470 for 2!!
Went to kwik fit, and they are charging £340, as there is 20% at the moment, but, i don't really want to go to kwik fit, where else can i get it cheaper?
Will i be able to change all the tyres to normal ones?
Thanks
malima

Edit....not sure if whole link comes up....!!
Or change to standard tyres!!!0 -
AFAIK you can fit normal ones and this will be the better option. You'll probably have a less rough ride as well As you have found, when they're punctured they still need replacing anyway.0

If you fit normal tyres just buy the sealant kit and compressor from BMW. I bought the items for my MINI and the total cost of the compressor, sealant and foam tray to house them came to around £65.The man without a signature.0

I asked about fitting normal ones, but the sales guy says yes, and the parts guy says no???!!
I started off by going to a BMW garage near me, who quoted £470 as he said i had a puncture in each rear tyre, so i went to check out kwik fit, (a guy walked in and said that after his tyres got fitted yesterday, his car was driving to one side!) they quoted £340, but i wasn't staying around. Phoned up a BMW garage a bit further away, and got quoted £365, but when i went there, they said i had only one puncture??!!Cost me £182.
Thanks to everyone who posted anyway!

I will check out if i can change to normal ones, and i will check out the prices, thanks!0 -
Ask on a BMW forum on the net if you can. Asking BMW themselves they'll no doubt try their best to sell you the most expensive option - and the easiest way to do that is to tell you they're the only tyres you can use0
