I've just rec'd my latest electricity bill which is £120 in credit. I rang to ask if my monthly payments could be reduced from £75 which they said they will reduce to £50. As my next bill is due in April surely it would be better to cancel my direct debit for this month and keep my £75 and restart it next month at £50? That way for this month I keep my £75. I don't see why they should sit on £195 of my money in this credit crunch climate. Do I need to notify Eon that I am cancelling my DD? Would they charge me? Also, would they let me reinstate my DD next month. I don't want to ring them unless I have all my arguments lined up in case they want to give me problems.

You have agreed to pay by DD. Eon have agreed to reduce your DD. If you want to cancel your DD, you can opt for quarterly billing so that you don't have a credit balance but you will lose your DD discount.0
