I would personally have a look online at the deals, make a list of them then go into your local Mothercare/ T R U/ Halfords & ask them to fit try them in your car. They dont like doing it if you going to buy else where, so just say u need to come back & get your partners car checked too so you need a selection of seats checked.
Britax have an online fit-finder for checking their seats.
kiddiecare have an upto 80% sale on at the moment so they also would be worth a check. hthGive a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach that person touse the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks.:D0 -

its dangerous just to buy a seat online, without checking if the particular seat fits right in your car (there are things such as "buckle crunch" you can only find out about buy putting the seat in the car. Some cars seats slope too steeply for certain seats,or the anchorage points of the seatbelt are in the wrong position, causing the seat to move too much.
Thats why when road safety departments do these roadside checks on child car seats,so many of them are found to be wrongly fitted (about 70% apparently)As said,Britax are one of the few companies where you can go online and get some guidance as to if the seat is suitable, and for which positions in the car.

If your a member of Which they have product testing on car seats online which is well worth a read (I think you can still get a free trial membership on the website). After a lot of research I went for the Britax Evolva 1-2-3 Ultra which will last right up until they dont need a car seat anymore. Got it from costco for around £80, think the RRP price was around £140.
Boots have it on offer at the minute as well:

explains about buckle crunch
Thats what I wanted to say but when I typed it I thought it sounded a bit shi**y, I couldn't get the words out right.
It's over 80% of seats that are incorrectly fitted, which is shockingly huge!Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach that person touse the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks.:D0 -
