My father inlaw is thinking about trying this has anybody got any advice that i could pass on to him. Or if it would be cheaper to get a morgage on the property,Thanks to all in advance . RAY

Equity release is a mortgage -lifetime mortgage -the alternative is a reversion.You can only have a normal mortgage if you can pay the repayments.
A lot of people take out equity release in order to pay off mortgages at or during retirement when the repayments become a burden.0 -
Yes the point of equity release and a lifetime mortgage is for people who want or need some money but haven't the income or desire to pay the mortgage repayments.0
