Hi - I had heard that there are some people who have been billed from their gas company in feet, and yet their metres are in metric. I have just checked and I think I am in the same situation: my bill is measured in cubic feet (and the latest one says 422 units = 13299 kwh) and is a staggaring £430.44 for the quarter (we live in a 2 bedroom house with a brand new boiler and a standard gas hob!). My meter is measured in m3. a] should I let the company know, and b] will I benefit, or will they try to charge me more?? we have been living here for nearly 3 years now. Any advice is more than welcome! thx

You are being charged for an imperial meter. Tell them - you'll get a bill for approx 4,642 kwh - about a third of your present bill.
Check previous bills too, of course!0 -
This is brilliant - thanks for your advice - I have just got off the phone to my electricity company (EDF) and they have rebated me 66% of my 18 month payments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you look at your meter on the dial it will normally have M3 (small 3 for metres cubed)0 -

Cardew, appologies for posting on different threads, wasnt sure how to get the message across to everyone, I am annoyed at the way we are all forced to use the big six for our fuel, and nobody knows about the new technology, it really is saving me money, I just want to let people know so we can send a clear message to the oil, gas industries that we are not prepares to be held to ransom. I am not used to these forums, so thought I would send to differnt thread, advice appreciated. There are three types of people in this world...those that can count ...and those that can't!
