I agree, I thought the same on the Gok programme, I think the 'fat gene' is just another excuse for many. I also agree with the weight your body can be used to and I don't think BMI is a good measurement for everyone either.
The obese kids who say they've tried diets (on various programmes) - I do have to wonder, how much have they tried and how long have they stuck at it.

that gok wan programme was something else. I so sympathised with those young people and can see some of that in my past. However I dont think they have done everything they can, I would often say I have tryed everything when I was young, I never ~ I was lazy. As for that young lad saying 'I have tried everything I want surgery', ummm I better bite my tougne but lets just say I would have liked to have said a few choice words to him (again coming from shome 'exactle' the same as him.

I am not saying if they designed a pill that could make me a healthy weight (not slim) I wouldnt go for it but 1) I would be expacted to pay for it out of my own pocket and 2) I would feel a faliure to myself as I cant remidie what I have done to myself.

I am trying to lose weight just now but I feel I am doing it the right way (if ever there is a reight way) however I do feel I get a lot of comments. Either why/how/why not earlier comments plus lots of 'put downs' hence why sometimes I just think why bother why not stay like this and then die young and no one need comment again. Its one of those mental things isnt it, do they win or do I win... We will find out soon :rotfl:

    You'll win, you're Superpap :D

I think people generally comment way too much on food/weight. I always get from people 'oh you're eating salad, are you on a diet, aren't you good', 'don't you fancy fish and chips' - erm no I like salad and healthy food, bog off!
