I voted 'maybe'. We are within compensation limits and will watch the situation with interest.0

Took everything out 2 months .
Dont bank on much EU support after the Irish veto
a couple of months back.
Many wiser people than us are saying Ireland could be the next
Iceland .
Be worried,very worried.0 -
As Baldrick would say I have a cunning plan !!!
Go down to your local bookmakers and get the odds on the Irish Government being unable to cover UK deposits !! when you have got the odds work how much you would have to bet to cover your total investment.!!
If the amount you have to stake on it is more than the amount of interest you will lose !! Take your savings out !!
If the cost of the bet is less leave your savings in and place the bet to cover them.
I am joking of course and do not recommend this action :rotfl:0 -

well the UK could also be the next Iceland - very, very unlikely in either case, but yes, either country could be0 -

From what I've read NR was viable and could have weathered the storm if the panic merchants had'nt started forming queues. The media then found the queue newsworthy and the rest is history. I often wonder how many of those who "queued" to bring down the Rock took their money back to it after the government intervened.
I would like to think that people with money have sufficient sense not to be led like sheep by the opinions of others of whom they have no knowledge whatsoever. Recent past experiences, however, tell me that this is wishfull thinking.0 -
but they weren't guaranteed up to £ 35,000 - it was only the first 2000 and then 90% of the rest up to 35,000, so only 31,700 of up to 35000 was guaranteed, so it was logical for people to withdraw0
