Brother moving in

my brother is moving into my spare room untill june time
ive got change of circumstances from from council on way but what will they need to know/how will things change
i get almost full hb (not all is covered) and full ct
however i am not taking any rent etc from him as he simply doesnt earn enough (was made redundant last year and works part time earning around £350 monthly)
he is having a bit of a tough time so he is here to ort things (mainly with his gf)

Are you in a private rented property at the moment? Who was in the property before? was it just you or do you have a family too? Also what is your current income - are you working or on JSA/IS/IB etc?:j0

I'm not sure about the housing benefit side but if he is over 18 then you will not be a single adult living in the property. So you'll lose your 25% discount and possibly all of your council tax benefit.0

The answer you have is correct, are you sure you understand the meaning of it though?
As a non-dependant his earnings will mean he is able to contribute towards your housing costs, so your HB will be reduced irrespective of whether he pays you anything or not.
Council tax - not 100% sure how that will affect you other than it will in some way.0 -
