Hope some kind clever person outthere can help me cause I'm stuck....
The keyboard on my sons laptop has stopped working???
But it only appears not to be working once Vista has loaded up as I can still access the Bios via the f2 button and the arrow keys, esc button and f button still appear to be working.
I've been able to attach a usb keyboard and that works ok, however that defeats the purpose of a laptop being portable.
The control panel suggests the keyboard is working normally.
I've done a system restore to before the problem started but that did not work either.
So i'm now out of ideas.
All suggestions gratefully received!
Cheers

Which laptop is it, a Dell maybe ?
If it is, shut it down, remove the battery for over a minute, put the battery back and plug it in to the mains too then boot it up.0 -
Its an ACER Aspire 7720G0

thanks for the advise. Ive tried removing the battery but the keyboard still aint woking...0

Try booting the computer up without the battery in. Obviously you'll need the mains plugged for power.
See if it works then. This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.0 -
Hi I definately agree with gaz_jones. I have a Acer Laptop that the keyboard just stopped working, tryed everything then read somewhere that just take the battery out, leave it out and just start it up plugged into the mains. Mine worked fine after that.0

Try booting into safe mode, does the keyboard work then?0

It might be a long shot but check the screws on the laptop, he they are over tightened or to loose they can sometimes affect the keyboard. Though this usually affects Dells, it might be the issue. But check out the battery thing first...:)Laters
