18185 /bt double charge

Hi there

Posting on behalf of my friend who has me coded into her phone with 18185 as a prefix . This has been the arrangement for several years and no problems .

Earlier this week she received her BT bill and had been charged £20 by BT for calls she had made to me via 18185 ,She was also charged for the same calls by 18185.

She has been in touch with BT , who have agreed to reimburse the £20 THIS TIME as a gesture of goodwill !!

She was also told that she needs to inform BT of her 18185 account or it could happen again and next time they will not reimburse .

Has anyone else had this experience ?

Has anyone else informed BT that they use 18185 /1899 ?

Their is no need for you to tell your provider your using an indirect call access service like 18185 ,its none of their business how you choose to place your calls.

To help her to make sure she is actually placing her calls via 18185 tell her to turn on the recorded announcement,if she hears it when she makes call then call is going via 18185.

Thanx billsaver . That's what WE thought .

BUT the point I am making is that she DID hear the recorded message , and WAS charged by 18185 , but ALSO by BT for the SAME calls .(who are now saying if it happens again there will be NO reimbursement ),

Just want to warn folks that this could be happening so check your BT bills .

That shouldn't be happening. Must be a fault somewhere with BT.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!
