BlockBuster Stores Madness Policy

Please may I ask for opinions with regards to the following email I have had to send after visiting BB today when trying to hire an Xbox 360 game?

My Account -> Who can I contact to give some feedback of a recent in-store experience?

Details:

Your staff at my usual ******* branch were very polite to me and I have no issues to raise with them.

However, Blockbuster seem to have a very strange policy?

I joined the above store nearly 5 years ago because it is closeby and convenient to my place of work. I hadn't been for a while until a couple of weeks back after receiving an Xbox 360 at Christmas time. I went to hire a game and was told that my account had been cancelled because I hadn't rented anything for 3 months?

That was fine, I simply provided my debit card and drivers license and rejoined, still being able to use my original BB card. I was told that at that stage I would only be able to hire 1x game until I returned the one I was hiring within the week. No problem.

I returned the game within time and hired another. No problem. I also returned that within time (as I always had done in my 5 years with you?)

Today, I attempted to hire another but was told that I was unable to because I had already hired and returned 2. I was advised that the store was "high risk" and I could therefore not rent the game until I had rented 8 DVD's??

Apparently my 5 year history as a customer of yours was deleted when I rejoined 2 weeks ago. I offered my drivers license as proof of my id, but was told that it was of no benefit to the situation.

Unfortunately, I doubt if I have any immediate desire to hire 8 DVD's. However, I would probably maintain a frequent hiring of Xbox games.

Please could you clarify this policy as I had to leave empty handed and really wouldn't want to take my custom elsewhere??

Kindest regards,

Mr **********

Nice email. Straight to the point, not aggressive, fair and very likely to get a response. Seems like a ridiculous policy. I wrote a letter of complaint to Blockbuster a few years ago, about the attitude of one of there staff. I never got a response back.

To be fair they, I never chased it up, and the store closed down shortly afterwards..... Ahh... Karma....
