Window Installer Problem

My friend has windows XP professional. She was having problems with spyware so I offered to install microsoft antispyware, but could not due to an error message saying windows installer was missing or faulty. Also could not install outlook express for same reason. Is it safe to download windows installer on XP professional.

about removal, worse case you may need to burn the programs to CD on another PC and load them , then do the updatesEx forum ambassador
