MINT Credit Limit Help!!!

in Credit cards
I applied for a Mint card with the offer of 0% on bal transfers and purchases til Nov 06. I have received my card and have a limit of £400, I was hoping to balance transfer with it but due to the low limit i can't.
I am in debt by 10K, but I thought I'd get a reasonable credit limit since I will be shiftin debts. Do you know how I can get my limit increased or how long I will have to wait until I can ask for an increase?
Many thanks in advance

Thats very low. Whats your total credit limit at the moment? I had about 20k of credit limit, not including my mortgage when I applied for my mint card and they only gave me a 4k limit. After phoning them up and complaining they increased it to 5k, but said usually you have to wait 6 months and prove to them you can meet the normal repayments before they consider increasing your limit.0

biblejohn, You said you complained to mint about your 4K credit limit and they upped it to 5K, what did you say to them to make them do that?
I desparetely wanna increase this limit so that i can balance transfer.0 -
It might be worth giving them a call and explaining that you have a particular balance in mind to transfer, you might not get far with it though. It depends not only on your available credit but also your income etc. I recently applied for an extension to my credit limit as an existing customer with Egg, but got refused initially. After I told them i wanted to BT two credit cards (and then close down the cards once cleared) they agreed. what have you got to lose!Debt Oct 2005: £32,692.94
Current debt: £14,000.00
Debt free date: June 20080
