I need some advice please, from anyone who knows aboput laptops etc
my laptop charger went dead, below is the brief description of the power supply
model@ EA11203
AC INPUT 100-240V - 50-60HZ
OUTPUT 20V - 6.0AMP
NEW REPLACED ONE IS BELOW (output is lower than the old one)
model@ LSE0202A1990
INPUT 100-240V - 50-60HZ
OUTPUT 19V 4.7AMP 90W MAX
what happened was when i used this new power supply, it didnt work as the power supply light went off as soon as i pluegs into the laptop, so what i found out was it has built in power cut off switch inside,
so i opened the old power supply unit and, i took the cable from there and replaced it on the new power supply, and this works fine now, What i wana know is will, the power pack ever blow up, cos it does get warm. bearing in mind, that the new power supply voltage are lower than the orginal power pack.
thanks i hope to hear from some experts, their view
thanks

Not an expert on voltage requirements but i wouldn't be happy using something with a lower voltage... did you get the power supply from AJP?
Regarding the heat though i used to have an AJP 8500V which the power supply got hot but in the 4 years i had it being on 24 hours a day and had no problems.
Even my current laptop's power supply gets hot, but i think most of them tend to cut off when they get too hot.
Also, if you have trouble getting another power supply from AJP try Mesh or search google for 'Clevo' suppliers as both AJP and Mesh rebrand Clevo laptops
