Can i use old green egg card to stooze?

Hi, My husband has an egg card that has not been used for ages (couple of years or whenever it was they were best for cashback) with a £5k credit limit. Would it be elegible for 0% and if so is there any reason we couldn't use that as £5k into our stooze pot?

Looking on the egg site it says lots about 0% on the anniversary so does that mean we would only be eligible every year in the month we opened the card? If I can do it now does he just need to ring them and ask them to move 95% of the £5k into our current a/c (so that i can transfer it to A&L)?

As we are just in the setting up process for stoozing I have so far: applied & been accepted for egg money card and applied for A&L savings a/c.

yes you can move the 95% to your current account. Give them a call and check when your aniversary month is.
    Nice to save.

cheers for the link. On that basis I can SBT taking 95% of £5k into our current a/c without incurring any BT fees and it will be at 0% for 5 months?

Yes, but you don't have to call them to do the SBT - you can do it online (transfer from current account/overdraft).

EDIT: You may also be able to do a 2nd SBT of 95% of the remaining 5% to max out the card to over 99%.

    Thanks thats fab. Cheers

Can I also check online if I'm eligible for the 0% now? I was only going to do by phone to check that as didn't want to transfer online and then find out I was going to be charged interest as I wasn't in the right month??

Just got reply from egg to my secure message, Says "there are currently no offers on your card". Should I cancel and close the card to try and free up the wasted £5 limit in the hope that I'll get a better credit limit when I apply for my stooze cards if I do or hang onto it ready for if a 0% offer comes up?

Another thought... if i get a higher than £5k limit given to me on the egg money card i just applied for could i use the green egg card as my mule SBT card and then utilise the bigger limit on the egg money card by putting that into my stooze pot?

(just in case its relevant the green egg card is in my husbands name & have applied for egg money card in my name).
