Has anyone used the website https://www.sunsave.com to book a Holiday?
I am looking to book a holiday with them, they look very cheap!
Just wondered if it is to good to be true.
Feedback would be great.

My company’s ABTA numbers are P6046. MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Travel Agent Code of Conduct.0 -
ATOL is a good thing as its a finacial protection scheme, dependant on if they are teh operator or just an agent.
ABTA is also extremely important as this is a consumer protection scheme, forcing companies to do things properly, but not a financial scheme. So if something goes wrong, overbooking etc, there are rules of how to treat customers fairly.
Hope that helps.0 -
I just priced up sc for may to majorca for 4 adults on sunsave...£900
Portlanddirect have near enough same hotel/holiday £676 based on 4 people and you get full protection with Portland (part Thomsons group)I would love to be a Travel Agent :j0 -
They are part of the Global Travel Group so they are financially safe, if you book with them you will be safe.
Global Travel Group is owned by Stella Group, large worldwide travel group who also own Harvey World Travel in the UK and Australia,:j Debt free since 31/01/08:j

My only comment is that Sunsave does not have its own ATOL but claims to be acting as an agent for others. When you read their terms and conditions it appears you may not in some cases be booking a package holiday, as you would with Thomsons or Portland for example, but allowing Sunsave buy the component parts and put them together. It may look the same but isn't as regards financial protection and having to complain for example. So long as you know the posible pitfalls, if it is cheaper to do it this way, then do so0

I have spoken to sunsave and they have told me that each booking is given an ATOL number which protects you.
You are not covered for low cost flights unless you book them on a credit card anyway.0 -
If the flights are low cost carriers then you are not covered which they will be using, they have no financial protection they are not ABTA bonded, I wouldnt be booking with this agentI am a Travel Agent

Global Travel Group have a group ATOL that all agencies in the group use. When it comes to them booking flights and accommodation with 2 companies, Global have a list of suppliers that accommodation can be booked with and then packaged with flights. As long as the suppliers they use are on the approved list the group ATOL will cover the bookings.:j Debt free since 31/01/08:j

If there are different componants, ie hotel from one company, flight from another, you are not covered as I found to my cost with Hays Travel.Alan_Bowen wrote: »My only comment is that Sunsave does not have its own ATOL but claims to be acting as an agent for others.
