I don’t have a landline and I some times need to call 0800 numbers,
This would involve me going to a pay phone box or using a friend’s home phone.
What I have found is that with a free subscription to Skype and never having added credit, Skype will allow you to call 0800 numbers for free (as it should be).
To do this you will need internet access and have setup a Skype account.
Take your 0800 number like 0800 100 100 (Free Directory Enquiries),
Or a number you have gained from http://www.saynoto0870.com/ and dial from Skype: +44 800 100 100.
+44 is the UK dialing code, when adding +44 take away the first 0.
I have access to the internet and wile looking in to making cheap calls via SIP I worked out how to make free calls.
I hope this is as useful to you, as it has been to me.

I shouldnt comment cos its just encouraaging loads more conversation, and Skype is a really good thing, but without a landline at home its impossible to get access to the internet anyway, practical experience shows that mobile broadband cant sustain VOIP conversations....£4988 Lloyds TSB Mastercard
£400 O/D Lloyds TSB
£2650 Lloyds TSB Loan
£5070 Black Horse Finance
Skint, but I have a plan.... an MSE Plan!!!0 -
My parents travel a lot and my dad has just suggested the entire family get Skype. I don't have a landline, but instead have 15GB mobile internet allowance on the 3 network and a cheap mobile contract with Orange.
I would be interested in being able to use Skype to talk to my parents, and to call 08 numbers to banks/ utilities (doubled my phone bill last month with these). Bit worried I will end up killing my download limit tho - does anyone know if Skype uses a lot of MB? And how do you get a free subscription please?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
