Will it Work?

I have a huge vacuum bag, the sort that you stick clothes in, suck all the air out and it flattens it to half the size? It's been causing me problems for ages as the seal never seemed to work and the bag just inflated itself again. I found out why yesterday, it had a tiny hole right in the middle of the bag. I think the cat got over enthusiastic with it.

I've covered the hole with 2 strips of brown packing tape, will it hold the air (or lack of it) now or should I just admit defeat and throw it out?

I found that packing tape perishes to fast. If you have a superglue that is OK for use on plastic try using that to stick a patch on?
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

Why not try a cycle shop, and get a puncture kit, that might hold it for longer than the packing tape!!??

I'd go for the puncture repair kit option. The repairs are designed to be airtight and flexible, after all. Exactly what you need :)

I purchased some from Lakeland, you put your clothes in them, then you roll them up to push the air out.The ones I got from lakeland are for when you go on holidays, your clothes take up a lot less room in your case.

    maybe duck tape?

a lot stronger than parcel tape but less effort than a puncture repair kit...if you've got some hanging around it might be an idea to try that

Thanks for all the ideas, unfortunately it's going to have to go in the bin as it's also leaking from the seal somewhere :( Has anyone bought these and they've been a success as all the ones I've got have failed in some way or another :(
