Anyone getting calls from 08708503491

Had a few calls from this number recently on my mobile - googling reveals some people saying it is AA/HBOS - others saying it is a scam - http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/08708503491
http://www.snozwangler.com/search.php?q=08708503491
Seems they are trying to phone to sell me something (if it was important they would leave a message yes?) - so far I have just ignored their calls.
Has anyone answered this number? How do I stop them from calling me? (BTW I have some accounts with Halifax)

I'm not sure about the number because I have deleted my calls history a while back. But there was a time late last year, maybe half way through that I was getting calls from a number that when I answered no one was on the other end. When I put the number into google it came out that if you use, think it was either go compare or swinton, that if you give your mobile or home number and don't tick the box to not use your telephone number you can get calls such as this.
So it is probably from a comparison site. Anytime I use on now I make sure that there is such a box to tick that means they can't use my details for ringing me up. The calls have since stopped. Not sure how you can stop them as at one point I was considering changing my number. But I think you might be able to get the number blocked, either that or go through any comparison sites or banks you use to make sure you are ticked out of marketing calls. That's what I did and they stopped.0 -
I have never given this number on a comparison site but have entered it in the Halifax callback on their website - maybe the fact that I made them pay for the call means they want to try and sell me stuff now...0

Can you remove it from that part of their website? Or if you use online banking see if there is anyway to opt out of sales calls or using your details to try and sell you products?
Either that or go into your local Halifax with the number and see if they can tell you anything if you think its them.0 -
have you got an AQUA card by chance? this is the number they use to chase overdue accounts etc..spreading the MSE love0

Online Banking has an option to update your numbers but not how they are usedBaron_Greenback wrote: »have you got an AQUA card by chance? this is the number they use to chase overdue accounts etc..

Have had 3 call's from this number in 2 days. Both times they refuse to speak to me and ask for my husband by name saying they are Lloyds TSB. Have confirmed with LTSB that its nothing to do with them and fillled a suspicious number form to be sent to the police. I suggest everyone that has a call from this number does the same. All searches say it's AA financial services so I've contaced them via emailed form. (they dont have a complaints or general number, supprise supprise!) See below, what do you guy's think?
I have received a number of calls from a call centre number 08708503491, every time asking to speak to my husband by name and claiming they are Lloyds TSB. I have explained that the only account we have with Lloyds bank is a joint in both our names and every time they have refused to divulge any details on the nature of the call. I have contacted Lloyds TSB and confirmed that this number is NOT a part of theirs business. I have also done numerous searches online and found that every one relating to this number has had `AA Financial services` and `nuisance calls` in the content. Whenever I try to call this number I am greeted with an automated message saying `you have been contacted by a call centre, we will endeavor to call you again` This is not what I want. I would like a number to which I can call and speak to someone to get these calls STOPPED!!!!! It is an invasion of our personal and private information and not to mention extremely worrying to think that such a normally well known and respected company such as yourself can be associated with the scum that are phoning day in and day out trying to disguise themselves as a bank that they are in no way associated with.
I would appreciate a quick resolution of this matter and expect to hear from you soon.
