Anyone got anything good to say about eCar?

Really want to go with them as as a new driver they are very cheap (and £60 cashback). However they have had very bad reviews in regards to making a claim.
Is there anyone out there who has made a claim with eCar and it gone pretty smoothly? Am hoping the bad reviews are just a case of people more likely to complain when things gone wrong and people who have a positive experience not as likely to post a review.
Should I risk it?

Just signed up with eCar on Monday, and after reading the reviews am having second thoughts
They haven't sent me my policy documents yet, despite saying that they would post them out by 1st class recorded delivery the next day.
They've already taken payment, but what are my rights with regards to cancelling? Can they charge me cancellaiton fee?poppy100 -
Page 12 of their Policy (Not clear if they make a charge, as its not mentioned I assume not)
1. Cancellation
You have the right to cancel Your Policy during a period of 14 days either from the day of purchase of the contract or
the day on which You receive Your policy documentation, whichever is the later. If You wish to cancel and the insurance
cover has already commenced, You will be entitled to a refund of the premium paid (as long as You have not made any
claims), subject to a deduction for the time you have been covered and for any cost incurred by Us in issuing the policy.
eCar Insurance may cancel this Policy by sending You not less than seven days notice by recorded delivery to Your last
known address. We will reimburse You on a pro rata basis the premium for the period of insurance still remaining.
You may cancel this Policy at any time by notifying us the cancellation in your policy records on https://www.ecarinsurance.
co.uk and by returning the Certificate of Motor Insurance. On cancellation of your policy any refund of premiums will be
calculated in accordance with Our scale of charges (subject to no claims being made) and paid to You after deducting
our cancellation charge.
Please refer to the eCar Insurance terms of business.0 -

They don't use recorded delivery they use standard post so which customer service assistant told you that is a liar.
You can get a copy of the policy terms online. And if you brought the policy online you can log into your account to see exactly what you have purchased.
I found them quicker than other car insurers in sending out policies.
The only issue I had with them I cleared up by sending a recorded delivery letter to them and threatening to report them to the ombudman when they didn't respond in the time.
They were actually better than other insurers who people reported the same issue to in sorting it out once I actually got through to them.
The issue was reporting a minor incident which they recorded as a claim even though there was no cost or injury to either party involved. I complained about this formally and they agreed that they couldn't record it as a claim there as other insurers would insist it was a claim meaning you lose no claims bonus.
You can do a search on this as I've had arguments on this site about this issue.
I actually chose them because I was moving addresses and they were one of the few companies who offered to charge you £0 admin fee for changing the address on your policy.
I actually changed my address 2 times in the year I used them. And got £15 back once and then charged the same in admin fees the next time I changed address so sum cost was £0 for 2 address changes.
They also didn't force you to auto-renew.
The thing I learnt with them is that they are one of many companies who you can't deal with on the telephone
BTW they weren't the cheapest for me but I said down with a calculated and worked out 2 address claims would cost me more on the 3 cheapest quotes.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
