Oh, if only I could get Wilja potatoes, they're my very favourite. I too am hoping that I can get iceberg lettuce to grow, but with being gifted a black thumb instead of green fingers I'm not holding my breath!
If you mean wilja potatos to grow, they are selling them in Wilkinsons, my husband bought some today0 -

Do I just put on here what I think I want to keep to?
There are 5 of us, 2 adults, DS's 16, 15 and 11.
Hi Bluetime, I don`t know if this will help(hopefully save you a bit of money), but does your bread maker have a dough cycle. I only use ever use this cycle, to make my bread or rolls. Once the dough cycle has finished, I shape the dough into rolls or pop into a tin, let it rise again to double size, then pop into the oven. HTH.Grocery Challenge 2013: July week 1 £90/£87.41

I want to know how I change from being a money saving newbie!!
Never thought I'd say this, but I'm looking forward to going back to school next week - so much better on my pocket for the GC! Plus the diet...
I have been thinking about the target of £125 I've set myself for march, and I feel quite good about it. This time, I WILL come in under! More good news - my mortgage has come down again, so the money I will be under for the GC will go on overpayments for my mortgage.
Aren't theories lovely?!

Frugal 2018 needed! Saving and NOT spending0 -
I managed to spend £3.50 on bacon rolls and a bottle of diet irn bru this morning because of a cancelled lecture - very annoyed at myself.
Still under budget, as long as I hold my breath for the next week then I should be fine.
If I'm under budget this month I will be going and using the excess to stock up on rice and jars of sauces etc for next month, when I'm going to cut my budget down a bit more. Eek! 0 -
.
Plan to shop Sunday this week and Monday next week. Used to do this before (don't know why I stopped!!) and then read it again on here I think.
Not sure how this different day shopping would make a difference. please could someone enlighten me. Thanx Maybe I could learn a new way to save?
I don't get to come on here too often.
Too buzy money saving!

Sunday week 1Not sure how this different day shopping would make a difference. please could someone enlighten me. Thanx Maybe I could learn a new way to save?
Monday week 2
Tuesday week 3 and so on.
Basically you are making each week last another day (8 days), but only buying a normal weeks shopping (7 days).
This is what I understand it to mean anyway .
hth
I have now decided to take DS out of real nappies (basically to cut wash loads due to struggling back). I think we did well having him in them for 20 months :T (minus a couple of holidays and 5 days in hosp when born!). Problem is I had budgetted for him in real nappies and now we are buying sposies
. I have managed to get a couple of packs using CC voucher/coupons
, but obviously this will add money on to the spend every couple of weeks
. We only have Tesco (not full range), Boots (ok), Coop (naff for nappies!) and Lidl (Lidl own but not so keen on them). TBH I cannot really increase the budget as we don't have much spare, we will see how it goes .
Hope all are well.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Just updating sig, spent £12.26 at Co-op this morning, got bread and milk, fresh fruit and veg, and baking supplies. now have about £11 left in budget until Friday, think I'll be ok, cupboards and freezer are well stocked, enough meals for a week and baking this afternoon to keep us going for snacks, making a malt loaf, carrot cake, Buttermilk cookies and Gingerbread cookies for the week. Also going to try some home-made crisps.
