    Hi Everyone,

I too am 5'8 and am about half an inch shorter than my OH. I have chosen flat shoes and in my hunt for something pretty i found "khussa" shoes on ebay. They are flat, hand embroidered, come in all sizes and colours. I bought mine for about £11.00 including postage and they are beautiful. My only word of advice is that my size 8s are a little big for me, so maybe go a size smaller or be prepared to put leather insoles in.

Hope this helps or gives ideas. :-)
  • I had the same trouble... I couldn't find any I liked, I know exactly what you mean about them all being for 5 or 70 year olds! I got mine from https://www.elegantsteps.co.uk in the end, I was really lucky to stumble across some nice ones that they only had left in my size for £15! They're not my favourite shoes ever, seen so many gorgeous heels that I just can't have, but I do like them and you can barely see them under my dress.

    What about satin ballet-style pumps?

Still very popular so easy to get hold of. I'm buying a pair to put on after the photos for when the dancing starts and my heels are discarded.

I bought ballet flats. Simple, flat, comfortable, and I'm unlikely to fall over.

Yes it is a good idea - I will look into getting some.

I was in BHS yesterday looking at their wedding stuff and they had two different styles of flat bridal shoes in ivory satin. unfortunately I have just looked online and there is only 1 pair on the website, and they are out of stock. But there were lots in the shop. They were probably around £15, very cheap.

They are not at all MSE, but I bought these last week:

I'm 6' tall, OH is 5' 10". I'm going to be taller than him whatever we do (short of putting HIM in heels :rotfl:) but I don't want to tower over him. I was having the same problem - all the flat shoes seemed more like something for kids or pensioners. Then I saw these and fell in love with them :o They look absolutely beautiful on. Yes they aren't cheap, but at least I'll be wearing a pair of shoes I love - and I fully intend to wear them with jeans after the big day :)

I pretty tall too and got my wedding dress in the sale, so i was told because my height goes against me my dress will ride up with heels on!!! Absolutely fantastic i thought im not great in big heels for any length of time!!! I love the thought of having my wedding shoes then taking them on honeymoon to wear on the beach or go for a long romantic walk!!! Whatever i do i intend to wear them again!!! Im loving all the fab websites that ppl heve offered and hope to get my pair soon!!!!
