In a nutshell the British Civil Service is now a morally bankrupt, rancid cesspit of injustice, inequality, corruption and incompetence managed by semi-professional politicians, spin doctors, liars and bullies whose only agenda is a personal one, to sustain the enormous salaries they neither earn nor deserve. I could go on but suspect many have stopped reading already.
Not me, I loved that!!! I'd thank you twice for that paragraph but the site doesn't let me

Fifteen days is the standard "Citizens Charter' deadline for them to reply but it does not have to be a 'substantive' reply (i.e. an actual answer, solution or resolution). They can send you a holding reply within that 15 days saying its a complicated matter and they will try to get back to you by such and such a date. When they do get back to you, if it is not an acceptable reply, keep pestering them nicely. Try to get the name and contact details of someone at a reasonably senior grade who is responsible and pester them and only them. They will then in turn pester a junior to sort it out. Don't be frightened to insist on dealing with somebody higher up the chain. Good luck, hope you resolve the matter.
  • Hello everyone,
Firstly let me appologize if this is in the wrong place, im a newbie and not sure how to post a new thread...So maybe the admins could post it somewhere for me
Ok i was wondering if anyone could help, I applied for maintenance via the csa many many years ago for my 2 children.(11 years ago)
This went on for years and countless letters too and frow along with getting my MP involved but all to no avail.
The last amount stated i was due from my ex husband was upto £35000 pound (thirty five thousand).
In the end i could no longer take the stress of it all and struggled through all those years without ever recieving a penny from my ex to the up keep and well being our children.
I was constantly fobbed off with excuses etc.. and letters and phone calls i just could not keep up with it all, nore afford the postage and telephone costs.
Sorry to babble on... so i will now post the actual question lol...

Is it still possible to claim csa now even though the case was over 11 years ago now.
I have all the original paperwork and letters messages etc..
I have never recieved one penny and it sickens me that all the years i have struggled whilst he has lead the life of riley, yes that may sound bitter but im the one on a low income fighting to save my house, whilst he lives in a 4 bedroom detached house all paid for and sitting pretty.
Can anyone help or advize? Am i to late to do anything now or is there still a chance i could claim for something?
Thankyou for reading my rather long post
    Maria x

I have some contacts in CSA so will ask next week. Presumably you checked their website at https://www.csa.gov.uk and/or gave them a ring?
Will try to get back to you asap.
    Good luck.

Was the case ever formally closed or did the gestapo merely spike it as being too difficult (or even throw it down their famous lift shaft) and when did they tell you that the arrears were £35k?

If the case was never closed, it is still live and you are still entitled to the money, and, what's more, money from that point until now (or when your child(ren) left education), not forgetting interest, compensation, consolatory payments etc.

Some more information will probably be necessary but, on the face of it, you are still entitled to the money, right back to the point the claim started.

I have just had a copy of a letter sent to my PM saying the same thing. It is being dealt with by the complaints dept.
