Child trust funds - are all stakeholders the same?

I am about to transfer my sons child trust fund into a stakeholder FTSE tracker fund, but I am somewhat confused...
Provided that the fund tracks the same index (ie FTSE 100 or FTSE all share) and the charges are the same, will all funds perform equally, or can the growth somehow still vary depending on which provider you go with?
Very grateful to anyone who can shed some light on this!
Thanks
