mightymole what you just said completely disqualifies you to give any sort of advice regarding technology from now in, in my eyes anyway.
UK online pharmacies are regulated, use secure connections and are most definitely not going to send someone a drug they didn't ask for (If they do, then the regulations in place mean very bad things for the company).
Sausage, this thread is about prescription drugs and no UK online pharmacy will supply prescription drugs without a prescription.0 -

They are many reasons to buy online.
If you have a private presciption (not NHS) for an expensive drug, then i would have no problem buying from a reputable online company. E.g.1. if the drug was the best but not permitted under NHS rules so by private prescription only (such as latest cancer drugs). E.g.2. If the drug was considered recreational such as sexual performance enhancing. E.g.3. Cosmetic drugs such as DHT inhibitor for hair loss.
If a presciption is not provided, then this limits the companies that will supply, but you can get cheap generics from companies avoiding patents such as Cipla.
Are you going to let us know if you are going to get a prescription and use a reputable online pharmacy?
As i'm in the buisness let me guess...
If your thinking Finasteride or Dutasteride then i would try inhousepharmacy.co.uk
If your thinking Viagra then tell your GP you want a private prescription.0 -
Thanks for all your comments and advice.
I am not registered with a Doctor and I am a bit Doctor / NHS phobic. All I wanted was to get antibiotics for an ear infection (no I am not a junkie or Viagra user). Unfortunately I was unable to do this due to the nanny state that we live in. Anyway I realised it would take too long to order online, so I bit the bullet and went to a private walk in clinic and I now have my antibiotics. It's a pity we can't buy a wider range of medication over the counter it would save individuals and the NHS time and money.0 -
The reason you can't pick and choose your own prescription medication is because you need a diagnosis by a doctor first. It's nothing to do with a nanny state. Antibiotic resistance would be a whole lot worse if people were allowed to just buy antibiotics when they felt like it and they probably don't even need them.
Anyone looking to buy meds on the net should watch this video first:

I would never buy any prescription medication off the internet, as the origin cannot be properly traced and you would have no idea of what it contains (unless you have access to the resoures). Somethings you should not want to save money like medication, optical wear, ect........
Im glad that it is illgeal as it would be a danger to public safety........:beer:In My 'Permanant' Pre-Masters Gap Year

Boots online sell prescription medicine. You of course still need a prescription from a medical professional, but it's a perfectly reasonable and safe way to buy your prescription.
I would stick to companies I know, but buying online shouldn't be innately wrong for any reason.0 -

I wasn't trying to save money - I just wanted to avoid seeing a Doctor. Selling prescription drugs on the internet is not illegal.0 -

Was just about to add that myself- along with simply visiting a boots or sainsburys or tescos pharmacy (or Lloyds or any other high street pharmacy) and saying what is wrong, they then can suggest things for you- got my eye infection cleared up this way, you just go to the conter and ask- you can also pickup advantage/nectar/clubcard points on your purchase too. (can't do this if its a prescription).
(For me it was simply because I didn't want to go sit in a waiting room and be made to wait 45 minutes for a late running appointment whilst systematically picking up the cold, flu and ...virus from other people also waiting.)0
