    dont do it bunny999!

You really dont know what your going to receive!

Certain Drugs are only available through your GP via a prescription for a reason.............(and its Not to fleece money from patients!!)
  • Ordering prescription drugs online is dangerous for human consumption and im thinking it also may be illegal as most are control drugs.

Saying this though, ive been buying prescription drugs for my dog for about 6 months now varying from £50 to £150 a month. These drugs are available online and friends of mine (who are qualified in the industry) have experience in buying these for almost half the price and have said it is totally safe (to buy for animals NOT HUMANS) and most vets will advise you furthor or even offer you alternative advice.

One bit of advice i got from a vet years ago was that instead of paying £10 a month for a certain pain killers i could buy a tub of childrens asprin from the chemist for about a pound and could then give the dog half of one at the usual adviced rate, the chemist did question it when i said they were for the dog though lol

  • It's not safe - the drugs may be out of date (= less or more effective) & they may not be the correct strength or composition.

It's also illegal to import controlled substances without prescription. If your order is confiscated, I believe you can be held liable. & plus, then you are out the £££ (most online drug sellers charge exorbitant prices because those desperate enough or sufficiently addicted will pay them).

If you need the drugs, just get them through NHS...
  • as othrs have said don't do it

you may think your buyimg 1 drug yoiu cannot be certain of the ingrediants

could contain bleach or something so dont be a idiot be a wiser person

go to doctor got prescription go to chemist safer cheaper for your wallet and health

I'm going to be the voice of dissent here ;-)

First, bunny999 did not say he/she was looking at buying prescription medicines. There are plenty of on-line shops where you can buy drugs which are available over-the-counter and I can think of several reasons (including, but not limited to, cost) why someone would prefer to buy them on-line.

Second, bunny999 didn't say anything about buying from overseas. There are plenty of UK on-line pharmacies, and they sell exactly the same things and are regulated in exactly the same ways as a high-street pharmacy.

Even if it *was* prescription meds he was talking about, and even if he *did* mean buying from overseas - not all prescription drugs are controlled substances, and many of them are freely available over-the-counter in other countries (e.g. there are meds which are prescription-only in the UK but not in Ireland, France or Canada - all of which have regulations which would cover on-line pharmacies just as they do ordinary shops). On-line pharmacy is big business in some parts of the world, and there are many reputable companies involved. I don't think they deserve the presumptions and instant dismissal they've received here.
  • blueberrypie if you brought drugs/medicines over the internet can you garuntee you are getting what you pay for?

the url address may be innocent and look like proper sites they can be hijacked for dodgy sites.

that is why it is alot safer to go to the chemist down the road
  • I'm stunned by the over dramatic presumptions being made so far, obviously there's a few daily mail readers online tonight.

mightymole what you just said completely disqualifies you to give any sort of advice regarding technology from now in, in my eyes anyway.

UK online pharmacies are regulated, use secure connections and are most definitely not going to send someone a drug they didn't ask for (If they do, then the regulations in place mean very bad things for the company).
Please don't pm me asking to eat me because you are hungry.

I am NOT a sausage roll.
  • A couple of years ago I ordered medication online that was over the counter here, but very expensive. I did my research, ordered it from a reputable company, and had no problems.

  • no it does not disqualify me from my comments as unscrupalus people have hijacked links on a support group forum i help to run

also i did not say uk pharmacies

there are people out there who do actualy make stuff and make it look like lagite drugs just to prey on people who bypass chemists dr etc in act of desperation who also don't go to uk pharmacies online

also i am not a daily mail reader can't stand the stuff they print
