Help! Want to return a Red Letter Day Experience @ Debenhams

My brother purchased the £75 Red Letter Day pack at Debenhams at the end of July last year for my sister's b-day present. A few months passed and she hands it to me to see if I can return or use it. Then another few months passed and I've found it at the back of my wardrobe. Now I'm wondering if I can still return it to Debenhams for a gift card (as I know the receipt is now invalid). Can anyone help?

I wonder if you could argue that it's not fit for purpose under the Sale of Goods Act seeing as the company is now bust?
Possibly not, just a thought.

We' ve had problems with Red Letter Days, but they told us they are still honouring experiences bought through Debs and Harrods. I'd contact RLD direct and ask them whether this is still valid.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0

They've gone bust? But I saw Debenhams still selling them just last week. None of the experiences are suitable for anyone I know, guess the last resort is ebay...0

Red Letter Days was a company originally set up by Rachel Elnaugh, one of the Dragons on BBC Dragons Den
The company went into administration with suppliers claiming they were owed hundreds of thousands of pounds.
As soon as the company went into administration, some of the assets of Red Letter Days company were snapped up by a couple of other 'Dragons' from the same BBC programme (Peter Jones & Theo Paphitis); they knew that buying the assets out of administration was much cheaper than buying the entire company as a going concern. That was on 02 August 2005, I believe.
Sorry, I don't know if the new owners will honour any of the vouchers sold before the company went into administration. Best bet is to ask. If you have no success, but initially bought the voucher using a credit card, you should be able to claim against the credit card company.
Edit:In a statement, Mr Jones and Mr Paphitis pledged to honour all Red Letter Days vouchers that have been purchased directly from the company using Visa and Mastercard, as well as from business-to-business customers.

From what I remeber Debenhams purchases are still being honoured - as long as the expiry date on the vouchers is still valid. Red letter days web site is still working and you are still able to purchase deals.0

Surely Debenhams would only refund on "an Experience" that could not be honoured?SallyD0
