Natwest Current Account to get to balance free transfers?

Ive just opened a current account with Natwest......solely because I wish to apply for a 0% credit card with them and there are no balnace transfer fees if you have a current account.
My question is........does anyone know if I have to actually make use of the current account to keep the 0% transfers valid?
I do all my wages and debits etc with Nationwide and don't want to move though at a push I could have my wages paid into Natwest.
Thanks in anticipation

For each balance transfer transaction debited to the account (a) during the first 3 months from account opening, or (b) during the period specified in any balance transfer special offer, we will charge you 2% of the transferred amount [minimum charge £5, maximum £49]. This charge does not apply during the first three months from account opening if you give your NatWest current account details during the application process.
To be safe, why not pay £100 in and draw it out at £25/week to keep some account activity running until you get the card up and running?0 -
