The SC Rice Pudding is ready - do I have to eat it all tonight?

Thank to all earlier who pointed me in the right direction for the Slow cooker recipe board.

I have now made my huge pot of rice pudding - done double amounts as it ( 2oz short grain rice)didn't look that much when I was pouring it in the pot!! Well now I have a large pot of yummy rice - which hubby won't touch :mad: Children are long sleeping :mad: :mad: , so just me and a huge pot of rice !!!!

What will I do with it !! - Keep it clean please.......

    LOL... I have already had a huge bowl....WIsh I had just used 2 oz of rice now!!! Looks like it will be a long night waiting for it to cool to put in fridge or freezer!!!!

    It's a bit late now, but for those with extras of something in the slow cooker - the hygiene and safety advice is to decant it into another dish to allow it to cool down quickly. Then put it in the fridge, obviously :)

    Slow Cooker pots hold their heat well and the longer it takes the food to cool the more chance there is for bugs to take hold.

    Sorry - rice pud is not good at being frozen - goes all mushy and grainy and yuk. Hope you didnt stick it all in there last night!

    No , I cooled it down in a tupperware using plenty of cold water, then stuck it all in the fridge. Guess what I am having for tea tonight ( on my todd!!!!). Thanks for all your answers, you can always rely on OS for comig back with a quick reply.

    I've just done the same thing. In the past I have put it all in the blender and then frozen it. Makes yummy rice pudding ice cream.

    Actually, I often use the blender on left over rice 'cos it makes perfect "ground rice".

    snap - I saw the rice pudding recipe yesteday and have just made it - there's enough to feed the whole neighbourhood!!!!! it is very scrummy though, so I am hoping that hubby will tuck in later!!!!
