Claim from being burgled - Advice wanted

I would appreciate some advice regarding my home contents insurance claim, we were burgled a while back. The insurance company said they would replace all the items as New, which is okay with some items. However they has insisted that we take vouchers for the jewellery and everything else. If we take cash they insist that they will be 20% deducted from the total. Can they insist on this, as the jewellery cannot be replaced in the shop?
Any advice or tips would be much appreciated.
I apologies if this question been posted elsewhere, I had a look I couldn't find anything.
Many thanks in advance.

If the jewellery cannot be replaced in the shop then no, they are wrong to make a deduction. Use this article as the basis of your argument - they should back down.

Mattymoo is right they cannot deduct anything from a cash settlement. My advise is to ask your insurance company if they have a jewellery supplier if not and you can prove the value of your jellewery by way of a purchase receipt or valuation certificate then the insurance company will have to pay this amount as long as you are not limited to a single item limit for valubles in your policy. The cannot insist you take vouchers they can only settle by way of their own suppliers replacing items or an agreed cash settlement.0

To clarify Icmelers post, insurers can deduct a % for cash if they are able to directly replace the item, otherwise not.0
