Car Tax Band B Car Finder?

Hi

I'm looking for a website which enables you to search for second hand car tax band B cars. But by band, not by car.

I want to be able to easily see a list of older cars which are in tax band b.

I have found the DVLA website which gives this information for newer cars, but not for older ones (I think) which you have to put the car in to get the info. Takes a long time...

Help appreciated!

no idea where you can search by band but www.parkers.co.uk allows you to check the banding of pretty much every car out there!!!

I can't find a searchable database of used car emissions either - as you say, only new cars appear to be listed.

However, the website http://www.vcacarfueldata.org.uk/ved-information.asp does have emission data for cars since 2001, but only in the form of a downloadable file for each year http://www.vcacarfueldata.org.uk/downloads/index.asp

As an example, I downloaded the file for 2004 cars in Excel spreadsheet format, the used the data filter to produce the following list of cars from 2004 which are in Band B. There weren't that many in 2004! Takes a couple of minutes for each year if you have Excel, and are reasonably familiar with it.

Just re-read your thread not sure if this is what you are looking for. You don't define what you mean by older vehicle?

Hi cc25, this is a great start, thank you!

I'm actually looking into this for a friend of mine, but it's occurred to me that it wouldn't be very difficult to stack all the data, apply criteria each CO2 Emmissions, and then set up an auto filter so that people could indeed choose themselves. A little project for myself at some point when I get a spare hour... :)

    THanks again

  • Hi, I put "Which new cars fall into band b" into google and clicked on "what Car" then searched under co2 emmissions and got list there.
