i thought you could apply as many times as you want? what about these people who have hundreds to pay back? You can't beat an egg.........................NO WAIT!0 -
I applied for JSA/HB/CTB on 19/11. Got my first JSA payment on 6th January after signing on 3 times, and first HB payment yesterday!!! Even without all the other issues you mention, the claims are still taking forever due to the sheer volume of claimants atm0

They'll only pay once for a particular crisis. If the OP applies & is awarded they won't award another crisis loan for the same thing if her JSA still hasnt come through in a week or twos time (although I still think her benefit should be paid first rather than having to apply for a crisis loan).
The ones who have hundreds to pay back have had multiple crises ... alignment to benefit, lost money, bed & bedding, exploding cookers, alignment to benefit, lost money, bed & bedding, exploding cookers ... ad nauseum.0 -

theyve told me they can't give me housing benefit until i show ive got some kind of income going on(which im presuming is the job seekers allowance)
i tried to show the JSA people my bank statements and they werent interested0 -
Thats not right, if you have no income while you are waiting for your JSA you have no income. They should not be holding up your HB claim waiting for the outcome of your JSA claim. You need to take the last months bank statements (from the date you applied for HB) for all accounts you hold to prove you have no income. Make a statement to confirm and explain how you have been meeting your day to day living costs. If you have borrowed money from family, if friends have been providing food for you etc etc. Once they receive that information they can process your claim on that info whilst awaiting your JSA outcome.:j0

BTW its the council you need to make your claim for HB to..sorry if you know this already . Its just you put about showing JSA your bank statements.:j0

i applied for all at once through the council website, it gives you 1 number to apply for all benefits you require from that date.

At the best of times it can take up to 6 weeks, but now i guess with so many being made unemployed it's taking longerLife is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0
